Based at the Evason Phuket Resort, the regattas 6-party social programme will be 5-star, offering excellent catering & first-class entertainment, complemented by very special low-season rates for luxury accommodation.
This year the fleet will gather from 27th to 30th July at the exclusive 5-star Evason Phuket. Racing will be held over four days at the south end of the island in normally fresh south westerly breezes.
The multihull class will see at least three and possibly four of the Pescott Fireflys built by Latitude 8, a stones throw from the regatta venue. The competition will be fierce with Roger Kingdons Moto Inzi straight from a Samui victory pitted against newcomers X Ta Sea and Chi Machine. The other multis will be trying hard to put a spanner in the works and not let the Firefly mafia have it all their own way.
The performance cruising cats will be well represented and the trend for large multihull fleets seems set to continue.
The usual suspects will be battling in the IRC fleets with both Minx and Ruby Tuesday determined to repeat their wins from last year.
Club class may be a big one with a good number of charter boats being offered for charter at special regatta rates.
The good ship Seraph, a well known sight at local regattas, will not be the committee boat this year. The grand old lady is 100 years old and owner Tom Howard is sponsoring an invitational rally for the classics. Watch this space for details.
